How Do I License Live Meeting?

Microsoft Live Meeting can be licensed through the Microsoft SPLA License program using a per user licensing model. Per User licensing options provide dedicated meeting attendee capacity for users who access the Live Meeting service. Licenses are required for all internal users (classified as users within the Firewall and includes delegates) of the service, but are not required for external conference participants.

Can I mix Live Meeting Standard and Live Meeting Profession licenses depending on the needs of my individual users?

Yes, and this is very common in most situations. All internal users of Live Meeting should acquire either a Standard or a Professional license. If the user is going to host a Live Meeting session to a group larger than 15 attendees, they will need a Professional license. If the user will host a Live Meeting session to a group of 15 or less, then the Standard license would be sufficient.

What if my internal user will never be hosting a Live Meeting session and instead they will only be attending Live Meetings sessions, will they still need a license?

Yes, all internal users of Live Meeting will need to be licensed with either a Professional or a Standard License if they want to participate in a Live Meeting session that is being hosted from another user within the Firewall.
