**** ISSUE - you cannot connect to the Internet and the Thomson tg585v7 router specifies itself as the DNS server and this can't be changed in DHCP.

What needs to happen is the router needs to be given a route to a DNS Server.

We specify the Google DNS servers at 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

To do this telnet to the Thomson ADSL router login in as the administrator
Key in DNS
Key in Server
Key in config
Key in route
Key in Add
Key in 8.8.8.8 at DNS=
Key in IP Address of the router 192.168.1.254 at [SRC]=
Key in Subnet Mask (e.g. 255.255.0.0 at [srcmask]=
At all other entries just hit the enter key until you are back at the prompt

Key in list to see the new DNS Server

Repeat changing the DNS= to 8.8.4.4 for a secondary (backup DNS)
